Metal-free dentistry
Metal-free dentistry belongs to the sphere of aesthetic dentistry, but only due to covering so many fields that it would be rather difficult to list anywhere else.
Of course, metal-free dentistry is partly about aesthetics as the old metal coronas, braces, bridges were simply bad-looking, and with the progress of technology the dental mechanics started to apply methods which also fulfil the aesthetic requirements of the patients.
However, it is very important not to sacrifice quality for aesthetics. For materials newly introduced in dental treatments it is essential not to be any weaker than the former materials, and their achievements should neither be worse, and if it is possible, they should provide more in quality and efficiency than bridges, coronas, etc. made of metals.
Metal-free dentistry uses numerous raw materials depending on what kind of manipulation is performed. For example, artificial sapphire or ceramics is used for braces. The latter material is also used for preparing shells and fillings. Nowadays, bridges and coronas are neither made of metal, all types of removable and fixed prostheses can be prepared in a way that during the manipulation the use of metals is totally neglected.
Best metal replacing materials are ceramics, which is white, endurable and strong, so it excellently imitates the characteristics of the teeth, and zirconia made of zircon (which is actually metal), which is a material with especially good characteristics, so it can be applied with good efficiency even for the most complex dental manipulations.
Any dental manipulation can be performed in metal-free form at ChainBridge dentistry, the doctor will inform you about the options before the beginning of the treatment.
