Aesthetic filling

Aesthetic filling is a special type of tooth-filling belonging to the list of conservative treatments. The aim is that exactly the same results can be achieved with them as with the simple filling, however, these are much nicer. This is especially significant if not one of the back-teeth are to be filled but, for example a hole in the front surface of one of the fore-teeth.

Filling is a type of conservative treatments, that is applied so that the tooth which started to decay does not need to be extracted – and also for the tooth to remain in the possible best condition for the longest period of time possible. A decayed tooth, if neglected, is continuously deteriorating, and finally the nerves contacting the outworld will be so sensitive to everything that for the improvement of the patient’s life quality it must be extracted. Therefore, the filling can make the tooth started to decay to stay in shape, so that no drastic solutions become necessary.

Aesthetic filling is the child of the age: by the end of the twentieth century, and especially by the beginning of the new millennium the desire to treat ill teeth in a possibly invisible way, enforced the elaboration of new techniques. Amalgam fillings have become less popular, there are only some dental surgeries where amalgam is still used. This is because amalgam is rather apparent in teeth, and it is a rather foreign material for the body, it might even have health damaging effects.

Aesthetic fillings, on the contrary, are made of body-friendly materials, moreover they have so many kinds of colour tones, which makes it possible to insert fillings of the same colour of the tooth. Besides, aesthetic fillings exceed traditional, amalgam fillings not only in their look, but also in quality and durability.
