Conservative treatments

Tooth conservation treatments are of crucial importance for the health of our bodies. However only some of are aware of the fact, that the mouth is the first stage of the digestion by appropriately chopping and preparing food. If there are problems with the teeth or other parts of the mouth, digestion will repent for it: for example, less saliva is produced so the teeth cannot appropriately chew the food, and improperly prepared food gets into the stomach, which may lead to further, even serious illnesses.

Tooth conservation treatments are known for everybody, but with another name: but yet different types of fillings and the root-canal therapy.

Earlier fillings were made of amalgam, today holes on the crown or root of the tooth are replaced by aesthetic materials totally harmless to health. These have different tones, and the doctor chooses the appropriate colour according to the colour of the patient’s teeth.

Inlay and onlay are special variations for tooth filling. Inlay is put on teeth which have holes too much in size to have stable fillings put on them, therefore the hole is not simply filled, but actually the original tooth is tried to be recovered using modern dental techniques.

Onlay is a recovery layer put on the tooth. Actually, both in its design technique and in its materials it is the same as onlay, however, inlays are used for filling holes, and onlay is exclusively used for recovering the chewing surface of the teeth.

Root-canal therapy is also a tooth conservation treatment as it serves the objective not to remove a tooth seriously damaged down to its roots. Root-canal therapy, against common opinions, are not painful, if turned to the doctor in due time. Of course, quick intervention also has the advantage of having much greater chance to have the tooth conserved for a very long time in the best possible condition.
